About this 2005 Ford GT – £375,000

In 2005 Ford officially supplied just 101 Ford GTs to European customers. Of those 101 cars the UK were allocated 27 – this car offered for sale was one of those 27 and one of only two specified in black without the optional stripes. The car was originally supplied to the well-known automotive journalist Mr Matthew Carter, former editor of Autocar and Classic & Sportscar magazine.

It comes with the factory option lightweight BBS wheels and was built at the Ford Wixom plant on the 16th of March 2005.

This is an outstanding low mileage example of the head-turning supercar in excellent condition.

Under the rear clam-shell engine cover lies a 5.4-litre supercharged V8 producing 550bhp and 500lb-ft of torque, driving the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission.

It has a very complete service history with 12 stamps in the book and invoices present for every service ever carried out. It will be freshly serviced prior to delivery to the new owner.

SUMMARY

The Ford GT is a fantastic modern supercar, which is not just blisteringly fast in a straight line, but also boasts impressive handling thanks to the development influence of Ford’s global team. In its launch year in the UK, it was crowned as Evo magazine’s Car of the Year, with the team calling it “one of the all-time great supercars”.

Rarely seen on British roads, this car is in superb condition and would make an eye-catching addition to any collection.
